Dawn is a teenager and is about to finish high school. When her mother is murdered, her life is turned upside down. She loses her home and goes to live with her uncle and aunt who are leaders of a church. Dawn is not happy there and runs away. The aunt realises that she has not been able make Dawn feel at home and starts searching for her.
