Samantha Crawford is a successful young woma. She's happily married to Billy, lives on a farm with her favorite horse and has the job she always dreamed about: making children's books. But her life is shattered when her husband is shot during a robbery and dies. She plunges into despair and loses all hope. She even takes a gun to her chin to take her own life. But as she's standing there with the gun to her chin, an event happens right before her eyes that changes her life forever and also reunites her with her best friend from school; Joe. Joe is fighting for his life himself being on dialysis, but still manages to keep his head high and help those who need it. He tells Samantha about the encounter he had with God while is was in prison and how his life was never the same since then. Samantha slowly opens her heart to new possibilities. Until she gets sucked back into the murder case of her husband and her newfound hope is being tested.
