Mack Philips' youngest daughter, Missy, gets abducted during a campging trip. In a remote cabin out in the wilderness of Oregon, they find clues that show that she was brutally murdered. Four year later, while still in deep mourning about his daughter, Mack receives an interesting note - a letter from God - with an invitation to visit the cabin again and spend the weekend there. While his feelings are telling him not to go, he decides to return to the place where it happened. There, he finds a remarkable company: Papa, a large African-American woman, her son Jesus, a friendly carpenter from the Middle East, and the always happy Sarayu. The answers that Mack will receive there will surprise you, and might change you just like they did to him.
