After Jesse's father perished in a fatal snowboarding accident he decides to move to the mountains with his uncle Roy, who is a ranger. During one of their trips in the wilderness they find a wounded wolf. The two take the animal with them so Jesse can nurse it back to health. Even though it is a wild animal, the young man develops a special bond with the wolf that he calls Silver. However, a local rancher sees the wolf as a direct threat and want to put it down. Fortunately Jesse will stop at nothing to protect his four legged friend.
