“When Calls the Heart” is the story of Elizabeth Thatcher, a young teacher accustomed to her high society life, who receives her first classroom post in a small prairie town in the Western Frontier. Coal Valley is a place with an entirely different life to the one she's used to, and so Elizabeth does struggle. But when she finds a secret diary of her late aunt, she discovers she was a real pioneer, a teacher as well struggling on the prairie but falling in love too. With her aunt's hopeful words, Elizabeth decides to embrace her new adventuce. But she will have to learn the ways of the frontier if she wishes to thrive in the rural west. How does Elizabeth adjust to her new hometown?
